Norton City School year end sched

I don't understand what they were thinking. Why not go on a Saturday last month instead of the last day of School being this coming Saturday. Crazy, just doesn't make any logical sense to me. I'm sure attendance will be awful Saturday

Thats probably the point. Attendance would probably have been terrible that other Saturday too. The last day of school is probably the least important.

They've already had to go a saturday, plus for awhile 20/30 extra minutes a day for awhile to make up all those days. Friday and Saturday are exam days, so attendance won't be a problem, this has been thought out a little better.

They still have to have the school open for the minimum required days by state mandate I would imagine. 80% of the students won't be there

yeah, that kind of came out wrong. what I was trying to say is why not schedule another saturday earlier in the year that way you don't have these kids in the elementary and middle school having to go this Saturday because the HS has exams. if they would have just went the last saturday in May then get school over by Friday.

We have a middle school? Anyways, UT is right, it has to be open a certain amount of days, it has nothing to do with the HS exams...I just mentioned that because of the attendance question. They do have to have saturday school also, you have to cancel it to have a regular class day on that saturday, which they've done already. I don't think they really care if they elem. students show up, it still has to be open regardless, I don't remember going the last day but maybe one time during elem. school...it was field day.

The Elementary School has been renamed to Norton Elementary & Middle School. They did that just recently once all the renovations had been completed.

Did not know that, sounds like something they'd do though.
